Michelle Noftall is from Conception Bay, Newfoundland and has been singing and playing music all her life. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Voice) at Memorial University before going on to complete a Bachelor of Education (Primary/Elementary) and teaching in the school system for 10 years.
Michelle introduced herself to the local music scene with the recording of her debut album, Songs for a Winters Night in November 2015, produced by Chris LeDrew. It was recognized with a MusicNL nomination as Female Artist of the Year for 2016.
Michelle's second album, Roots in the Water, is a collection of original music inspired by the fascinating story of her family’s cultural roots from Barbados to Newfoundland. This project was produced by Craig Young and supported by funding through ArtsNL and was officially released November, 2017.
In 2020, Michelle is set to write, record and release a piano instrumental album, Pianos Unplayed. It will be produced by Ian Foster and is being supported with funding from ArtsNL.
Presently, Michelle teaches music privately at https://newwavemusic.ca/ in Paradise and is pursuing a Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology at Memorial University. She plans to continue using her education and experience to help people heal and connect through music in both private practice and community work.
